I was curious to know how it sounds, as it is the first soundtrack for a 2013 release film. I hadn’t had much expectations from this one but still by seeing Anand Raj Anand as a music director, I listened it carefully thought it turned out to be a surprise for me because Anand Raj Anand has composed only two songs and the rest three are managed by a newcomer AmjadNadeem. So let’s begin sameekshaa of this full mumbaiyaa flavor soundtrack.
- DhoomPeLakdi – Singers:Sukwinder Singh, Sachin J Joshi and Others.
Music: AmjadNadeem, Lyrics: Shabbir Ahmad
This song has not a single interesting element in it. Sukhwinder tries much exposing his full energy but due to a bad composition he fails. It could have been much better but it seems as if the composer is not interested much.
- Marjawa (Male)– Singers: Sonu Nigam, Music: AmjadNadeem, Lyrics: Shabbir Ahmad.
This song is a worth listening with some very nice arrangements and a beautiful composition with a nice lyrics. It adds life to this album. Nice singing by Sonu Nigam but he could have given much better expressions. His voice is made for echoing. It looks beautiful when his voice is echoed but I guess this newcomer is not all interested in putting his effort because in this song his voice is not at all giving any romantic and soulful effect.
- GovindaAla Re – Singers: Wajid Ali, Music: AmjadNadeem, Lyrics: Shabbir Ahmad.
This song is a full energetic song beautifully sung by Wajid. The song is on the occasion of Janmaashtmi festival so it needed dhol and nagada which the composer has used very intelligently and showed his dedication towards it.
- Thumka – Singers: ShreyaGhoshal, Music: Anand Raj Anand, Lyrics: SatyaPrakash
A typical item song but it’s a beautiful composition and Shreya has sung it giving very nice expressions. In the mukhra you would feel a little bored, but in the stanza you would surely enjoy because the tune is catchy and solid. It surely deserves one time listen.
- Blunder – Singers: RituPathak, Music: Anand Raj Anand, Lyrics: SatyaPrakash
Two item songs in the same album! It’s called a height of foolishness. This is not even a one-time listen and it deserves a “GET OUT” song from me. Ritu has sung the song well but the tune and composition totally sucks.
- Marjawa(Female) – Singers: Sayantani Das, Music: AmjadNadeem, Lyrics: Shabbir Ahmad
It surely deserves a “WELCOME” from me. It is the best track and the newcomer Sayantani has sung it amazingly. She has put all her efforts and has made this song a must listen. A very nice composition and beautiful arrangements though it’s just a female version of Sonu’sMarjawa but it’s far better from the male one and saves the album from getting drowned.
So, this album had five tracks and two versions of a song. Definitely AmjadNadeem has done a better job than Anand Raj Anand. With two mumbaiyaa songs, two item songs and the last savor Marjawa, I give this album a “NOT A PROBLEM”.
