Maruti with a Punjabi Horn!

Mere Dad Ki Maruti is a Y Films production from which we are expecting some good entertainment. It’s music has already entertained everybody but too much of anything does no good. it seems like it has also happened with this album as the whole soundtrack is full on Punjabi with little variations among them.

Music: Sachin Gupta; Lyrics: Kumaar

1.Punjabiyaan Di Battery – Singers: Mika, Yo Yo Honey Singh
When you read the names of these two singers singing together, you would surely opt for it. Mika is getting awesome song after song. The way he says “chaubis ghantey” in a Punjabi manner is so damn adorable. If not the music, lyrics do charge you up. The song starts with a rap by Honey Singh’s cool vocals and then Mika rules it. The second rap is nice too. Dhol with some techno beats make this one a must listen.

2.Main Senti Hoon – Singers: Jaspreet Jasz, Shalmali Kholgade
A quite catchy tune when merges with Jaspreet’s vocals sounds too cool and awesome. The nursery rhym-ish lyrics complete the whole package of this great party number. Shalmali has very less role but when she comes into party, she makes it sexier. This sure short successful song calls for “WELCOME”.

3.Haaay – Singer: Punjabi MC
The composition is staid and stale. When the backing vocals say “haaay” only that is the moment you would feel that there is something nice in the song. lyrics are not that good as well. After listening to two great Punjabi tracks, here is the one that would upset you a little bit.

4.Hip Hip Hurrah – Singer: Sonu Kakkar
After getting a little upset, this track would surely drag your excitement to the lowest level. The singer is quite good, lyrics are nice but the arrangements suck. The indefinite use of so many instruments and beats has turned it into something irritating to ears. The hook line is the only good thing. It’s a “GET OUT”.

5.Mere Dad Ki Maruti – Singers: Diljit Dosanjih, Sachin Gupta
At last comes the title track which again gears you up and makes you think that it’s not actually that bad. Starting with a decent note and suddenly raises the level and making it a full of masti wala song. The beats are great and so are the arrangements.

Mere Dad Ki Maruti is a Punjabi centric album in which three tracks are well made but surely do not deserve to be excellent compositions. With Punjabi as a theme, Sachin Gupta could have done a lot better than this.

The Final Verdict: NOT A PROBLEM
