If you are a regular reader of this blog, you must be knowing the condition of Sajid-Wajid after a disgusting soundtrack of Himmatwala. Soon after such a bad experience, I wasn’t expecting anything from them. But then came David Dhawan who has collaborated with Sajid-Wajid in Blockbusters like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Partner and the music also topped every chart. Now here is his 3rd venture with the duo and let’s see what actually David Dhawan extracted from brothers
1. Har Ek Friend Kamina Hota Hai – Singer: Sonu Nigam; Lyrics: Kausar Munir
Starting with the usual Sajid-Wajid beat, this song grows on you after multiple listening. It has an “Aal Izz Well” effect as the lead singer is none other than Sonu Nigam. He holds the song so well that you would gladly miss all the defects in this song. The notes in the stanza are perfect and suits well with Sonu’s voice. The lyrics are nicely written describing craziness of friends in a lovely way. Arrangements are nice, tune merges perfectly accompanying with healthy vocals make it “WELCOME” song.
2. Dhichkyaaon Doom Doom – Singers: Ali Zafar, Shreya Ghoshal; Lyrics: Neelesh Mishra
It feels even better when Ali Zafar goes on the mic with Shreya. A kind of track which would make you remember Do You Know from Housefull 2 and at the same time you would think of some famous RD Burman tracks. The arrangements are so well and hat’s off to the composers for that! If they tried to create 70’s impact in modern style, they are successful in doing that. The trumpet used makes us think of 90’s romantic songs. But here the lyrics turned out to be the culprit. The disgusting stodgy lyrics from Neelesh Mishra was unexpected. The lyrics also make this song uninteresting.
3. Early Morning – Singer: Sonu Nigam; Lyrics: Jalees Sherwani
You are enjoying the soundtrack! Then here one more for you. Sonu Nigam comes again with Early Morning. The tune is a little bit inspired from the old Chashme Baddoor track. The track is quite enjoyable and the lyrics are beautifully written. The tune has a retro feel and Sonu’s energetic vocals make it more superb.
4. Ishq Mohalla – Singers: Wajid, Mika Singh; Lyrics: Neelesh Mishra
You had actually enjoyed much. So they made this track with again Neelesh Mishra with awfully written lyrics. Mika is nice with his vocals along with Wajid. The tune is somewhat irritating and gives you the idea that you are actually listening to a Sajid-Wajid album.
5. Andha Ghoda Race Mein Dauda – Singers: Wajid, Neuman Pinto, Ali Zafar; Lyrics: Jalees Sherwani
A song they created, which had no need of. Three singers on board making no sense with their vocals. The words of the song have no idea where they actually have to go. Lyrics are disgusting and meaningless. The composers might not be able to decide how to make this track so they made it rock. Yes, the guitars in the hook line are greatly played. The rest of the song is a bullshit. It’s a “GET OUT”.
Sajid-Wajid tried maintaining their dignity in the industry and up to some extent they are successful. We just have to hope that they do not hurt us by their songs as they did in Himmatwala. David Dhawan is again successful in churning out decent music from the duo specially when they are in bad form.
The Final Verdict: OKAY
