Bad Recording does spoil things… (Ramaiya Vastavaiya – Music Review)

Prabhudeva comes again to deliver a hit with a newcomer Girish Taurani, the TIPS son along with Shruti Haasan. After two chartbusting albums of Sajid-Wajidm Prabhudeva has first time opted for the young duo Sachin-Jigar who are currently delivering hit after hit. Sachin-Jigar can go wild like they were in Go Goa Gone and they can be soft and melodious too anytime they want. A romantic album which should have a crunchy melody and delicious lyrics, did they succeed this time?

Music: Sachin-Jigar;  Lyrics: Priya Panchal;  Music Label: TIPS Music

1. Jeene Laga Hoon – Singers: Atif Aslam, Shreya Ghoshal

A perfect melody which is so apt for becoming an instant hit. Sachin-Jigar’s trump cards Atif and Shreya have again drawn all attention of romantic listeners. Starting with Atif’s addictive vocals, Mandolin is beautifully played using the hook tune. The song picks up the pace with a weird yet beautiful rhythm and promises to keep you grounded and relaxed. It’s a treat from Priya to all the lovers. It’s a sure chartbuster track and it is definitely the “WELCOME” song.

2. Hip Hop Pammi – Singers: Mika Singh, Monali Thakur

Starts with unbearable Nagada and soon starts creating kerfuffle in the ears. Yes it is that bad. The lyrics totally suck. Arrangements are disgusting. The composition is stodgy and irritating. Dhol is used blatantly without any pace and specific rhythm. Arrangements are really bad.

3. Bairiyaa – Singers: Shreya Ghoshal, Atif Aslam

One the first listen you would fin that it’s a regular normal sweet romantic song but as you listen to it more, it would turn out to be an amazing one. Some good arrangements, nice singing and a beautiful antara take this song to another level. A must listen!

4. Peecha Chhute – Singer: Mohit Chauhan

Sachin-Jigar is always expert in extracting something different from Mohit Chauhan. After Bezubaan, here’s another one. The song is not so good but It’s quite an unusual track and one can like it easily. It’s not a chartbuster number but it would be liked by some people specially the fans of Mohit Chauhan.

5. Rang Jo Lagyo – Singer: Shreya Ghoshal, Atif Aslam

It’s an experimental romantic track with really beautiful rhythm and arrangements are awesome. Atif’s voice is well suited for this track. A great gesture is shown in the song by the duo composers. Lyrics are lovely. It has also got a ‘hit’ from the public.

6. Jadoo Ki Jhappi – Singers: Mika Singh, Neha Kakkar

This is a typical item song which has all elements to be a hit. But it’s damn irritating. Neha Kakkar’s vocals doesn’t at all sound good to the ears. Lyrics are even worse. No mention of the arrangements. A disgusting tune that doesn’t deserve to be hit but it is for sure.

Ramaiya Vastavaiya just like the name, soundtrack is too filmy to digest. Romantic tracks are nice but none of the songs has long life. The lyrics by Priya has no creativity and also has lack of freshness. After some awesome creativity in recent albums, Sachin-Jigar disappoint here a little. But I am sure they will be back on track in their next album.

The Final Verdict:  OKAY
