Mithoon clearly shows his Dominance!! (Hate Story 2 – Music Review)

Since the actors, the director, technicians all are changed in the sequel, the music director had to be changed anyhow. Even when Harshit Saxena performed excellently, the makers running for the multi-composer formula, replaced him with Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Rashid Khan, Meet Bros. Anjjan and Mithoon with one song each.Hate-story-2-june6

1. Aaj Phir – Singers: Arijit Singh, Samira Koppikar;  Music: Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Arko;  Lyrics: Aziz Qaisi, Arko

A Laxmikant-Pyarelal composition which has been remade from the movie Dayavan was sung by Pankaj Udhas and T Series’ early favorite Anuradha Paudwal. Arko hasn’t only changed the word behisaab to beshumaar, he has changed many elements including the antara, instruments and lyrics. He has somewhat made it into a better song because of good mixing and arrangements. This song is on a much lower note and that makes it even sexier. In the lyrics of the first antara, a word deedar comes which is not at all fitted in the meter. I wonder how they left it carefree. A good justice with an old song.

2. Kabhi Aayine Pe Likha Tujhe – Singer: KK;  Music: Rashid Khan;  Lyrics: Tanveer Ghazi

This is a typical Rashid Khan melody which can easily make you remember Deewana Kar Raha Hai from Raaz 3. Unfortunately that was later found to be copied. I hope this does not. It’s just another romantic song with same kind of beats, singing, arrangements and lyrics. It is so ordinary that you can actually find many old romantic songs inscribed in it. If there wasn’t KK, it would not have even been tolerable. Vague effort.

3. Pink Lips – Singers: Khushboo Grewal, Meet Bros Anjjan;  Music: Meet Bros Anjjan;  Lyrics: Kumaar

The “blind following” is a very old disease of Bollywood. Now, since Ekta Kapoor came up with an idea of making Baby Doll by acquiring Meet Bros Anjjan and Kumaar, so how can makers of this film think of something different! Here’s another song on Sunny Leone with the same composers and lyricists. Meet Bros Anjjan also follow their previous tradition by making a newcomer Punjabi girl sing the song. Sadly, wonders do not happen everytime. It doesn’t stand anywhere in front of Baby Doll. Unlike other songs, the weakest element in this song is its hook line. I guess a 3 year old can come up with something better. I wonder how directors approve these things. The whole song is good and decent but the hook line screws it all.

4. Hai Dil Ye Mera – Singer: Arijit Singh;  Music: Mithoon;  Lyrics: Mithoon

This melody haunts you, craves you and pulls you towards itself. It is not one of the best from Mithoon but still holds the album in a tight grip and clearly shows you how different and classy it is from other songs. Arijit’s singing is applauding. How well he does justice to a Mithoon song! The line Saathi tera ban jaaun is damn catchy, heart-warming and soulful. Just like any other song of Mithoon, it touches and penetrates deep into the heart. You can’t leave this one!  #WelcomeSong

Hate Story 2:  It’s a small album with just four songs each belonging to different composers. Arko got an old melody to treat and no doubt he did justice with that. Rashid Khan wasn’t expected to compose a very fresh romantic melody unless he would have copied, so no disappointments from his side. Meet Bros Anjjan should understand that no matter what they do, Baby Doll is not gonna be recreated. Hence, it is just Mithoon who never disappoints and always purifies us with his heart-wrenching melodies. Except Mithoon, no other composer provides the required satisfaction.

The Final Verdict:  NOT A PROBLEM
