Coming from Pritam’s classroom, composing Pritam-ish albums like Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, and then suddenly bringing their own unique “hatke” sound from ABCD, Sachin-Jigar are the composers who have evolved the most in these years. Here they are again with Dinesh Vijan as their producer and Raj & DK as their directors after Go Goa Gone, which itself was one of the most innovative albums being witnessed, with Happy Ending and this time it’s not a Zom-Com album but a regular Rom-Com with ofcourse their creativity at its best.

1.G-Phaad Ke – Singers: Divya Kumar, Shefali Alvarez; Lyrics: Ashish Pandit
Well, that’s a smart double meaning attempt by Ashish. You can sing it in front of anybody as the letter “G” is pronounced as Jee which means mann in Hindi so in that case, you are not being pointed as singing a “vulgar” song. Beside smart lyrics, comes the crazy singing by Divya Kumar. It’s purely a club song and if I am not wrong, it is his first attempt of a club song as his vocals have a folksy texture but all credits to the duo who has used him in such a dynamic way. Shefali gets the catchiest line in the antara and she is the mistress of club songs. Sachin-Jigar are expert in EDM though it’s not entirely an EDM still the expertness is clearly depicting the energetically awesome beats. Not just dance, but Hillll dul ke Dance.
2. Paaji Tussi Such A Pussycat – Singers: Amitabh Bhattacharya, Jigar Saraiya, Divya Kumar; Lyrics: Amitabh Bhattacharya
The humming is the highlight of this track with which the song begins and that’s actually the groove of the track. Amitabh is clearly the winner here, introducing a new concept of men being compared to a pussy cat contrary to the notion that compares men with dog. A cute humor is attached to it like, apni barbaadi ka siren sunke bhi, besharam puchhe what is that! Amitabh’s tuning with Divya is stunning. The child-like tune by Sachin-Jigar caaaaaaat, braaaaat, chaaaaaat does attract a lot and depicts the creativity in their sound. Talking about creativity, I have never seen something like the sudden slowing of rhythm in the second antara which depicts that the duo is always trying to make their compositions sound unique in some way. Full on creativity in composition as well as in lyrics.
3. Jaise Mera Tu – Singers: Arijit Singh, Priya Saraiya; Lyrics: Priya Saraiya
Sachin-Jigar beautifully change themselves according to the “kind” of the director and producer they are working with. Their romantic songs with Tips Films are so different from that of the songs which they do with Illuminati or Remo D’Souza. With the improvement that Priya had done in her lyrics in Mann Basiyo Saawariyo from ABCD, has kept on maintaining that level. The hook is nothing unique still seems fresh Aise tera main, jaise mera tu. After this line it’s the accordion that completes the mukhda. Arijit is always pleasant to hear and it is somewhat different for Arijit too from the type of romantic songs he usually does. The best moment in the track according to me, is the meher meher meherbaani part in the beginning. A fresh take on romantic genre.
4. Mileya Mileya – Singers: Rekha Bharadwaj, Jigar Saraiya, Priya Andrews; Lyrics: Priya Saraiya
Now, this is a very unique track which neither can be called romantic, nor fast nor inspirational. It is though literally a foot tapping melody which the trio of Jigar, Priya and Rekha Bharadwaj has worked out flawlessly. Priya is continuously outdoing herself in lyrics writing. This is one of the best written songs of this year. The inner meaning which she has tried to show is beautifully conceptualized. Jigar’s autotuned voice never irritates, rather it soothes you which is rare in the case of autotuning, and that may be the result of good programming. Plus, you hear, not one but, two brilliant Saxophone pieces which immediately bring a beautiful smile on your face. A very uniquely composed and arranged track.
5. Khamma Ghani – Singers: Papon, Smita, Vidhi; Lyrics: Amitabh Bhattacharya
When you greet someone in Rajasthan, you say “Khamma Ghani” and the person will reply with “Ghanni Khamma”. Balika Vadhu viewers must be quite friendly with this word. The inspirational and the serious side of Amitabh is rarely seen as he mostly gets quirky numbers to write. Well, he performs both equally well. Undoubtedly Papon is the soul of this track. The song seems to have been made for him exclusively. Smita and Vidhi, two new singers haven’t impressed much. Their vocals sound too sweet to be digested. Percussion is another charm in the track and even Guitar has been played with novelty. This track will have a pretty long shelf life.
6. Haseena Tu Kameena Main – Singers: Siddharth Basrur, Shruti Pathak, Rahul Pandey; Lyrics: Amitabh Bhattacharya
Here comes the very typical Amitabh with his cheesy lyrics Haseena tu kameena main, hai mausam tu mahina main, that’s cliche Amitabh Bhattacharya school of writing. Siddharth and Shweta’s chemistry is awesome and that’s actually what this song needed. A fun catchy composition resembling Vishal-Shekhar’s zone. This is the only song in the album that is less novel in terms of composition and lyrics but still it has that wonderful Rom-Com vibe which has the ability to attract the youth. A refreshing Rom-Com track in the literal sense.
This album has freshness to its core. In every beat, in every swar, there’s freshness overflowing!! Even before the year ends, Sachin-Jigar has already given a very Happy Ending to 2014.
